Who sets the rules
Each airline decides carry-on and checked bag allowances, size and weight limits, and bag fees. Allowances can differ by route, cabin and fare type, even on the same airline, and many basic fares include no checked bag. Cheap Fare Flight cannot change them.
Bag fees before you book
U.S. Department of Transportation rules require airlines and ticket agents to tell you that bag fees may apply and where to find them. Our quotes show the bags included in each fare and link to the airline's baggage fee information, so you can compare fares with bags counted in.
Confirming your allowance
Your quote and itinerary show the included baggage as the airline reports it. Before you fly, confirm it on the airline's website using your confirmation code, especially if your trip involves more than one airline.
Connections
When every flight sits on one ticket, checked bags normally travel all the way to your last stop. With separate tickets you may have to pick bags up and check them in again, and each airline can charge its own fees. Your quote tells you which situation you are in.
Restricted items
Liquids, lithium batteries, power banks and other items are subject to Transportation Security Administration and airline rules. Check the TSA's current guidance and your airline's rules before packing.
Lost, delayed or damaged bags
Report missing or damaged baggage to the airline at the airport before you leave, and keep the report reference. Claims are handled by the airline under its conditions and federal rules. On a booking made through us, we can help you find the right place to file.
