Which bookings this covers
Everything below is about flights you booked with Cheap Fare Flight. Bought your ticket from an airline or a different agency? That seller handles its cancellation and refund.
When you choose to cancel
Each ticket comes with fare rules written by the airline. Those rules say whether a ticket you cancel pays out in money, in travel credit or not at all, and what the airline keeps as a charge. We have no power to rewrite them, and we cannot return more than the airline gives back.
When the airline cancels or significantly changes your flight
Under U.S. Department of Transportation rules, if an airline cancels your flight or makes a significant change to it and you do not accept the alternative offered, you are generally entitled to a refund to your original form of payment, including for the unused part of your ticket. Where federal rules require a refund, you get it. Let us know as soon as the airline contacts you, and we will take care of the request for a booking made through us.
Asking us to cancel
Send the booking reference, who is canceling and which flights. We check the fare rules and write back with an estimate: what should come back, what the airline charges, and any service fee of ours. The cancellation goes in only once you approve it in writing, and in most cases a canceled ticket cannot be revived.
What may be deducted
- Any airline cancellation charge the fare rules allow, for a cancellation you choose to make.
- Any non-refundable airline components of the fare.
- Our service fee for handling the cancellation, where it applies and is shown in your quote.
Whether any part of our original booking fee is returned on cancellation is stated in your quote before you pay. Amounts that federal rules require to be refunded are not reduced by these deductions.
Skipping a flight without canceling
Miss a flight without canceling first and the airline can mark you a no-show. On many fares that wipes out everything except certain taxes, and the airline may also drop any later flights on the same ticket.
How refunds are paid
Money goes back to the card or account you paid with. How fast depends on the airline and the payment networks, so we give you the expected timing at the moment we file the request, then tell you when the airline confirms it and when it is on its way to you.
If the amount looks wrong
Send us the booking reference and tell us what you expected. We will walk you through the math and, where it makes sense, push the question back to the airline. Our Complaints Handling Policy is there if that does not settle it.
