Which bookings this covers
This policy is for trips booked with Cheap Fare Flight. A ticket from another seller has to be changed by that airline or agency.
What can be changed
Depending on the fare, you may be able to change the date, flight time, route or cabin. Some basic fares allow no changes at all. Changing the traveler is generally not allowed; see our name correction page for spelling fixes.
How the cost is worked out
A change quote can contain three items:
- Fare difference: what the new flight costs now compared with what you originally paid, as the airline prices it.
- Airline change fee: the fee in your fare rules, if any. Many fares no longer carry one.
- Our service fee: what we charge for doing the change, listed on its own line.
If the new fare is lower, whether the difference comes back to you, as money or credit, depends on the airline's rules.
Nothing moves without your yes
Your booking stays as it is until you accept the quote in writing and pay whatever is due. The fare difference is not frozen while you think, and it can shift right up until the airline makes the change.
Airline-initiated changes
If an airline changes or cancels your flight, it may offer another flight at no charge. If the change is significant and you decline the alternative, federal rules generally entitle you to a refund instead. You hear from us what the airline has put on the table, and we carry out whichever option you pick. Any service fee of ours for this work is shown in a quote before we proceed.
Timing
Airlines may restrict changes close to departure. Contact us as early as you can, and do not assume a change has been made until you receive the updated itinerary from us.
